When the Volcano Blows!
FoneRent has come to the aid of numerous customers who were stranded by the recent air traffic restrictions.
As travellers in the EU and further afield became isolated with limited options to travel home, not only were they forced to find hotels and food but they also started to rack up high mobile roaming bills just keeping in touch with friends, family and colleagues. FoneRent was able to use its European partner network to ensure its clients could stay in touch without breaking the bank.
Melisssa Breake from Canada was one unlucky client stuck in Cannes. FoneRent was able to get a local French SIM to her inside 2 hours, halving the cost of her calls home. Melissa added, 'I was only due to stay in Cannes for 2 days but when that became 4 and the French Trains were on strike I decided to act. Within a couple of hours of speaking to Carol at FoneRent, their courier arrived at my hotel with a French SIM Card. It was a life saver as I finished up travelling in a car to Paris and then on the train to Brussels before my flight home to Toronto. I think I saved around $275.00 which will pay for some of the €3500.00 car ride'!
FoneRent Sales & Marketing Director, David Gill highlighted the Companies challenges by saying 'We too were in difficulties as so much of our International deliveries are flown out of the UK and the US by our couriers. Thankfully, folks like the Proximus Network in Belgium and our many rental partners came to our assistance, and we to theirs. Indeed it showed the value of having partners in overseas locations. We also allowed all our live rental clients to take FREE Rental once their expected period had past to ensure no one was left stranded without communications'.
