Running Reporters Share the Pain.

FoneRent has supplied a range of Smart Phones and Data solutions to enable celebrity athletes to send video clips and live 'feeds' of their experiences and progress around the Virgin sponsored London Marathon 2011 course.

As thousands run for charity and athletes come to London from all over the world, you can see the progress of many household names courtesy of FoneRent. Each of our celebrity runners has a state of the art 'facing' Nokia Camera Phone with a front facing lens as well as the traditional camera unit. This allows them to show what they see as well as filming themselves. Maybe not so flattering by mile 26?

Ian Duff, FoneRent Head of Logistics was actively involved in setting up the phones, testing a new App' for video linking and also selecting the right phone for the job and he commented, 'The request for this solution came to us quite late in the day, but I am delighted to say we were able to react quickly. After checking coverage and the best network for the job it meant we could deliver for the TV crew and production guys just in time. We have already seen a few clips and Iwan Thomas showing his phone off to Sue Barker this morning during a pre-race interview and we look forward to seeing all their 'running reports'.
